Is it a good idea to switch from blades to electric razor after 20 years of shaving?
I've been using a blade for 20 years, but finally getting annoyed by the nicks and cuts, even though I use those ridiculously expensive Fusion blades and shaving cream. I always heard that your beard gets used to blades and that switching to electric is not easy and that you won't get a very close shave. Before wasting money on an electric, any opinions on whether a middle-age man can or should change?
If you switch, you will have to get used to an electric razor much like you had to get used to a blade, but I’m sure the transition will be smooth within a week. You will not get as close of a shave using an electric, and shaving you neck is a little different with an electric.
The upside is that it will not take as long as a blade and you can do it more than once a day without irritating your skin.
Although I am a younger guy, I often switch between the two, using an electric before work and opting for a blade before a date.
Try the shaver in the link below. It is the one I use, and I’ve found it is easier on my skin and neck than anything else I’ve used. Don’t be fooled by the cheap price tag, it works well and has lasted me over a year so far. Plus, you can use it in the car.
