Best way to prevent red bumps after shaving pubic hair?

Hey, most everytime i shave my pubic hair, in the next day i get very itchy red bumps. I use shaving cream and a sharp razor, but i still get bumps. Any particular way to shave like in which direction to prevent red bumps?

that used to happen to me but it usually stops happening after a month or two. i started shaving down there when i was about 16, now i'm 19 and any itching hasn't happened in years.

if it does, baby oil worked well for me.

always shave down and try to use some aftershave, or just buy an electric shaver

hydro cortisone cream ..thats all you need

good question… dont go against the grain when shaving.. and use, or i do, aloe or vitiman e lotion. using an electric is good but be careful..this is a delicate method, bumps, thats hard to cure. hairs that go in grown causes this so dont go too close.. my opionion

Jace, you have some good advice so far. There's not too much that I can add, except that as you shave more and more, your skin will become more accustomed to it and the red bumps will become less and less. Try all the mentioned procedures here and in time the redness and bumps will lessen

try just trimming instead of shaving
